January 1
Lien Date. The time when taxes become a lien on property.

February 15
Legal deadline for filing Welfare, Religious, Church, Cemetery, and College exemption claims.

April 10*
Deadline for payment of second installment of secured property taxes.

April 1
Due date for filing Business Personal Property Statements.

May 7
Deadline to file Business Personal Property Statement without penalty, unless the Assessor notifies you of an earlier filing deadline.

July 1
Assessment Roll completed by Assessor's Office and delivered to County Controller.

July 2-November 30*
Period to file application with Clerk of the San Mateo County Assessment Appeals Board for change in assessed value hearing before the Assessment Appeals Board.

August 31
Deadline for payment of unsecured property taxes.

December 10
Deadline for late filing of Homeowners' Exemptions and Veterans' Exemptions to qualify for partial exemption.

December 10*
Deadline for payment of 1st installment of secured property taxes.


*Other due dates may apply for supplemental and escape assessments.
